On Sunday 9 April 2017 Brighton shone with beautiful sunshine and an estimated 150,000 people lined the streets to cheer on the runners taking part in the famous Brighton Marathon.
The main event attracted around 12,500 runners and Moorfields Eye Charity were lucky enough to have four amazing runners take up the challenge and run to raise important funds for Moorfields Eye Hospital.
The race started at Preston Park where temperatures reached up to 22C, making this extraordinary challenge extra difficult. We are extremely proud of our four runners and how they took an extra step forward to create a world beyond visual impairment.
A massive well done to:
- Michelle Lewis completing the marathon in an impressive four hours and 38 minutes
- Joe and Chris Harvey completing the marathon in an equal time of four hours and 48 minutes.
It was a great weekend for #TeamMoorfields and all our runners should be extremely proud of themselves. They have raised an impressive £3,119.98 for Moorfields so far!
The JustGiving pages of all our runners are still live. If you would like to show your support, please visit their page and donate.
