Eye disease attracts less than 2% of medical research funding in the UK. This means that bright young investigators are often drawn to other branches of medicine which enjoy a higher profile and more abundant resources.
First awarded in 2016, the Moorfields Eye Charity PhD Studentships programme supports research students to undertake projects towards the understanding, prevention and cure of vision disorders.
The studentships provide exciting opportunities to educate and train the future researchers in eye disease and aim to encourage researchers in complementary fields to combine their expertise to provide answers to some of ophthalmology’s most intractable and complex questions.
To make a donation towards these studentships or for further information, please contact Rachel Jones at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 020 7521 4610.
